Trivia

  • He is the only officer of the Red Hair Pirates who cannot be identified among the crew that stayed at Foosha Village in Chapter 1, the cover of Chapter 41, or the original anime adaptations.
    • He is eventually depicted among the crew twelve years ago in One Piece Film: Red and the Uta’s Past Arc.
  • He resembles the character Eldoraggo from One Piece: The Movie in terms of his appearance (fangs, lips, mane-like hair) and the ability to shoot powerful blasts from his mouth by roaring.
  • When Gab was first named in SBS Volume 101, his “Howling” epithet was written as “ハウリング・ガブ”, with an interpunct and no quotation marks, giving the impression that it was his surname. This was initially still the case in One Piece Film: Red promotional material. However, subsequent content such as Gab’s Film: Red poster and Eiichiro Oda’s concept art in Volume 4000000000 write “Howling” with quotation marks.
