Ukon

Ukon is a samurai who allied with the Kozuki Family. After waiting 20 years for the return of the Nine Red Scabbards, he affiliated with the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance to raid Onigashima.

Appearance

Ukon is a tall, fair-skinned man who is almost twice Usopp’s height. He has blonde puffy hair tie up in a chonmage, sideburns that extend down to his jawline, a pointed nose, slim eyes, and black eyebrows. He wears a grey kimono with a slate-colored square pattern on it, and a light green cloak with a darker green, blotchy patterns on the sleeves and bottom of the cape. He also wears geta with a dark-colored strap and has a reverse crescent moon tattoo on his ankle.

Personality

Ukon was caught off guard when a slip of paper appeared in his cloak and was surprised further by the message on it. He is loyal to the Kozuki Family, and he was delighted with the opportunity to fight alongside his comrades again. He was terrified of Big Mom’s power, with his jaw dropped and eyes bulging out in disbelief, but due to his isolation on Wano Country, he did not know who she was.

Abilities and Powers

Ukon is strong enough to fend for himself against the Beasts Pirates on Onigashima and has a formidable will, continuing to fight them after being bloody and battered.

Ukon carries two katana.

History

Past

In the past, Ukon was allied with the Kozuki Family. After hearing Kozuki Toki’s prophesied the downfall of Kurozumi Orochi and the opening of Wano Country’s borders, Ukon and his allies waited for 20 years for the Nine Red Scabbards’ return.

Wano Country Arc

Ukon was walking through the Flower Capital when he passed a snakeoil salesman and brushed shoulders with the man. He suddenly noticed a slip of paper appear in his cloak, and when he pulled it out, he was shocked to see a cryptic message containing a reverse crescent moon.

Ukon joined the resistance and traveled with the Kozuki Family’s other allies to Onigashima, donning a disguise upon arrival.

When Big Mom charged at the samurai and blew a hole in the Skull Dome with Ikoku, Ukon was shocked and scared, crying out to ask who she was.

After Bao Huang announced that Luffy had been defeated, Ukon watched as Sanji continued to fight, saving Chopper and their allies from Queen and Perospero’s attacks.

Trivia

• His name may be a reference to Justo Takayama Ukon, a Japanese daimyo and samurai who lived during the Sengoku period.
